How do you know if you have a lump on your breast - this might be very obvious, but is it very prominent? Is there any discoloration?

You should have your doctor do a breast exam, they may refer you for a mammogram and ultrasound.

My tumor was not detectable by exam. It could only be seen on a mammogram. See your doctor right away.

Some lumps are noticeable, mine is and it turned out to be cancerous. Some can only be felt and others can only be detected through mammogram and ultrasound

My tumor was really hard to find. I had to be in a very special position to feel it. It didn't hurt, it seemed ok, but it wasn't. No discoloration, nothing out of the ordinary. I'm glad I didn't dismiss it.
