I'm off for my first chemo treatment with a prayer on my lips, a song in my heart and a smile on my face! One down, five to go! Thanks for all the advise and the support, ladies. YOU ALL ROCK!!

U go girl. God is with u and with us all. Don't ever forget that. Everytime they put that needle in my port I say "in Jesus name" and I remember Paul when he was bitten by that snake. I say Lord u found favor in Paul and that poison did him no harm. I ask u for the same favor. Speak the Word it's alive. Use it in ur time of need. God bless u.

Kay, Remember, you ARE a warrior. You are another sister going in to do battle with a lousy, sneaky enemy. You WILL be victorious, and will win this squirmish. You have God, his angels, and all of us on your side. There is no way that lousy, sneaky, enemy can do anything but give up. God's blessings to you and your sisters love you! Take care, Sharon

I am fightin' like a girl - hairless, boobless, fearless and utterly fabulous!! If the treatment stays the same, there's only 3 more dances with the Red Devil and we're done with that phase.
We don't just survive we THRIVE!!

You CAN do this! After today.....you have one LESS to do. Keep that in mind. Check those appointments off as a celebration. You are beating a lousy disease like we have. Hang in there and prayers to you! Take care, Sharon

A couple of weeks after my last chemo, I was at a cafe and ordered a raspberry Italian soda. Big mistake! It came in a clear plastic cup and was exactly the same color as my red chemo drug. I had to send it back. :-)

First dose of chemo done and over!! WOOOO!!!! Dr. Juna did a "bait and switch" on me, though. She still wants to get other specialists on board with my case, but she didn't want to delay treatment any longer, so instead of the TCH treatment I was set to get, I received Adriamycin (aka: The Red Devil) and Cytoxan. Now... These changes made me ponder great things: 1. A port was supposed to make chemo infusions easier, correct? Then why did the nurse say, "This might pinch a bit." as she came at me with a rail road spike that she jammed into my shoulder?? OW!! (Well... Not really. I'm embellishing for dramatic interest... I guess) 2. I'm a bit concerned about a chemo medicine that has earned the nickname - "The Red Devil." It sounds like one of those scary carnival rides. I suspect that along with my hair falling out and lowered white blood cell counts, I will also crave cotton candy and develop an unnatural fear of clowns. Thank you, my Sistahs, for all your love and support! It means the world to me!!
