      Learning About Breast Cancer

I just would like some ideas for fundraising, interactive activities, ect. Some teenagers are not infomed by this issue. I would like to make a difference that way cancer can be detected early.

OK Hope, It is good to educate teens. Have a young women with breast cancer come talk to the group. In our community teens have the Ceres Project and grow and prepare meals for cancer patients during chemo. Google it... Way cool! The other community help I loved was a free exercise class Living Well Progam and massage. I know cancer patients who don't have money for gas to get to chemo.. Rides or gas cards would be great!
As a cancer patient the whole pink thing gets old... One in eight women will have breast cancer in her life... That is outrageous! Treatment keeps us alive, but it is toxic! We need a cure... Research in immune therapy and vaccines continues.... Give support to women who are participating in clinical trials...

    Survivor since 2013
I participated in a breast cancer awareness hike cosponsored by the clinic I did my rads. at 8 weeks after completing rads. The money they raised by selling pink balloons was matched by the clinic and helped ladies who can't afford mammos. I'm also walking in the local Relay for LIfe that raises money for all cancers through the ACS. I did a survivor lap last year 10 days after my last chemo. treatment. Again the clinic where I did my rads. invited me to be part of their team this year, will walk the survivor lap, and then put my time on and off the track for the next 24 hours.
