Your Story

I'm 38 years old. I was diagnosed with breast cancer on March 20, 2014. I will be having a lumpectomy on April 11, 2014. I have an aunt who is a breast cancer survivor - 9 years and counting! I inspire to be my aunt, a survivor.

Had the lumpectomy, no nodes involvement. Had four rounds of chemo was the recommendation of an oncologist. I had a PICC line put in. Chemo started in June, had the infusion every 3 weeks. Shaved my head bald because my scalp started itching after the first week of chemo. I also had body aches. Second chemo made the palm of my hands peel. Third chemo was pretty much the same, minus the body aches (took Advil after consulting the oncologist). Fourth chemo was pretty much the same, but I felt that my body didn't bounce back as quick.

I also had 20 rounds of radiation. Went by pretty quick. The radiation felt like my skin had tanned and started peeling. Vitamin E lotion help.

So far so good! I am a survivor.
