I don't want to worry you but just because it was all removed tissue can be left behind. I used to do Mammograms and did a study on a lady who had a mastectomy and developed cancer in the area next to where her breast had been. What does your doctor recommend as there may be a reason he/she is telling you that you need radiation? I had a mastectomy and lymph node removal (8 even though they looked fine on the MRI). All 8 were negative but they radiated my underarm also as well as my chest wall. I wish you well no matter what you do as it is your decision.
I did everything my doctors recommended; surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation as I wanted to do what I could to battle this cruel disease. I'm an almost 7 year survivor and feel good. Is there some reason you don't want to do radiation?
Well that’s exactly what they said they wanted to radiate the area under my under arm I’m case cells were left but I had bone scan pet scan ,and mammaprint which said I had less than 5 percent chance of coming back within 5/10 years my surgeon said I would be good to skip radiation just do the tamoxifen hormone therapy ,it’s the radiologist that’s saying I need it and the oncologist,
Hi I just don’t think I need it and I don’t want any unnecessary treatment my oncologist told me my cancer was gone all taken out of the 1 lymph node and I had a double mastectomy, do you think I need it for 1 lymph Node even if it was removed ?
