Cindy's right Your throat is from the tube down your throat. You WILL get better...second and third days after surgery seems to be the most u comfy. Take your pain meds, drink plenty of fluids, watch some really lousy day time TV. Hang I there....we have been there and done that. Take care, Sharon

If this is the first part of your treatment you have hurled yourself into the reality of diagnosis. This week maybe very well be the worst emotional week for you. Stuff is happening in your life and you are entitled to be and have whatever mood that requires. Then pick yourself up and watch for emotional days. Eventually. Be brave be smart and be in charge. But for now, my friend, you simply aren't in charge. Rest up.

Throat might hurt from anthesia, should feel better in a few days. Try ice pops to help.

Try packages of frozen peas, or other ice packs, for the drain incision. That helped me the most for drain pain.
