Picked up a head cold but otherwise feel fine. Will doc just review WBC count? Don't want delays!

If counts are too low places usually don't do chemo. that day from what I was told. My numbers were always OK.

If I felt a head cold coming - as long as I did not have a fever- I would take Emergen C lemon and honey flavor 2-3 times a day. I felt immediately better. This was during chemo and I am still going through chemo. My doc said it was ok. If I had a fever- I called the doctors office for advice .

It is always best to leave a message with the doctor- regardless the question. No question is too basic or too stupid. This is new for us going through this and it is best to call - and be told all is OK. Remember the oncologist have been dealing with this for years and they understand the anxiety we are going through. Did your doctors office give you a checklist when to call?

Yes. They will check your counts and if it's too low they will delay you a day or two. I was told that a day or two won't mess up your schedule going forward.
