I wS pretty much like Betti. Betti and I also didn't have reconstruction to didn't have expanders to contend with. Expanders are uncomfortable. I never had any post-op pain and never took any pain meds. I was tired for the first couple of days but no discomfort to speak of. I was able to take care of myself, do the dishes, etc. I really thought it was easy. I started chemo at the 6 week point. . Take care, Sharon

Everyone heals at different rates. I had a unilateral mastectomy on a Friday and was discharged with 2 drainage tubes. I drove myself to my surgeon's office on Wednesday to see if they could come out. I also walked from her office to the hospital next door to pick up some records. I didn't have any problems other than I overdressed a little (it was mid Feb) so got pretty warm. I'm one that doesn't like lying around so went out for several short walks numerous times during the day even with the tubes in to keep myself going. I never had a need for any pain pills.
